Speaker introduction
Because of my background in the theatre and on television, along my writing credits and presenting background, my work as a speaker is a natural career progression.
I have delivered my speaker presentations in the UK, UAE and Germany and I have also worked as a Vistage speaker
My flagship presentation is about the power of story telling and is a mixture of historical reference, and antidotes relating to my own storytelling experiences.
My presentation takes the audience on a journey that concludes with the revelation of a key fact that provides the perfect twist as the conclusion to the session.

Once Upon a Time
The power of storytelling

I take the audience on the journey between storytelling and the development of technology, from cave paintings to holograms, from the hyroglifics to social media. The links between the two have always been there.

The narrative of my presentation is driven by a mixture of research, evidence and antidotes explaining how and why storytelling is the most important part of a modern comms strategy.

I use my story about how I have, all of my life, been involved in storytelling, from writing for children's theatre to making TV docs for the BBC, ITV, Discovery and ESPN.
Alongside this, I help the audience to develop and be able to tell a story that will help grow their business, thus telling their story.

At the age of 37 my 6-year-old son was diagnosed as being Dyslexic and, on the same day, so was I.
Up to that point, I had accepted that I must be 'lazy and stupid', because my teachers had constantly told me that
I was.
I then began the process of educating my son, determined that he did not fall into the same mind set.

We started by addressing all the positives. As a result, my son and I realised that what was being referred to as 'special needs' is in fact a 'GIFT".

The talk is a mixture of humorous antidotes and facts about the scale of people with linguistic and numerical Dyslexia. This will help the audience to understand why Dyslexia is increasingly becoming known as the "GIFT".

The smartphone revolution

Today, most of us have a device in our pockets that enables the creation of broadcast standard video, which is changing the ways in which we all communicate.
We call it our 'phone', but in fact it is mini computer, high definition video camera, edit suite and distribution centre.

I have taught over 2000 people around the world how to create video using their smartphones using my iDEC® teaching method, including BMW, Adidas and Barclays along with the UK and Scottish Governments.

My talk explains how these organisations and many other top brands are now using smartphone video to truly revolutionise their internal and external communications.
My talk is a mixture of practical demonstrations and advice combined with some basic production guidance.
